The Poetry Society of New Hampshire (PSNH) is an all-volunteer organization that was incorporated in the early 1960s and granted non-profit status soon after. Its primary locus of activity at that time was Manchester, NH, where many of the founding members lived; since then, readings and meetings have been conducted in various regions across the state.
PSNH was created to share and cultivate poetry across NH and New England; members are the lifeblood of the organization allowing us to do the work we do!
PSNH celebrates and shares poetry through open mics, workshops, contests and collaborations with other artists. To achieve this, we sponsor and support events all over New Hampshire, including at libraries, art galleries, parks, theaters, and on the radio.
PSNH is proud to be a key contributor to the NH State Poet Laureate program, where we recommend a poet to the Governor following a rigorous application and selection process, and support critical activities related to the position.
